Hal Hutchens Elementary School Counseling Department provides a comprehensive program that focuses on helping students succeed academically, building strong personal/social skills and to prepare them for post secondary education and a career.
WELCOME TO THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR!
Welcome back to another great year at Hutchens Elementary School. I am Mrs. Wallace, the school counselor. I work with all students providing academic, personal/social, and career support. These areas are addressed through classroom guidance lessons (K-5), small group counseling, short-term individual counseling, crisis intervention, as well as consultation for parents and teachers. Also, I sponsor school-wide programs that promote leadership development, life skills, and character development. Success for all students begins with strong home/school partnerships, and we appreciate the continued support from our school community. It is an absolute joy to work with your children! It is my privilege to work alongside you in preparing responsible, respectful, and life long learners. Join us as we prepare our HONEYBEES for readiness in college, career, and life!
As we start the 2023-2024 school experience, please feel free to reach out to me, regarding any emotional or mental health concerns that you or your student may be experiencing. Over last several years, we have seen, heard, and experienced at lot of activities that may bring about stress and anxiety. Given the issues we are facing at this moment, these feelings are normal; however, do not hesitate to reach out for support. We are family and we are all in this together. As your counselor, I'm excited to work with your student and family as we navigate our way to academic, social and emotional success.
